GFS BurgeeYALogoGreenwich Flying Squadron is a sailing Club affiliated with Sailing NSW and Australian Sailing (AS). This affiliation means GFS is part of the broader sailing community bringing with it many benefits, tangible as well as more abstract. SA holds a Personal Injury Insurance Policy providing blanket insurance to all current registered Club Members while they are participating in Sailing events organised by the Club. All GFS on water events are conducted in accordance with the Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020, rules which are developed and administered by AS. Rule 46 relates to those in charge and crews’ membership of an affiliated sailing Club. Rule 46 allows for a non member to participate in 3 races in any one sailing season. To comply with the Racing Rules of Sailing if a crew member participates in more than 3 events with the GFS during one season their skipper(s) should ensure that crew member becomes a ‘Crew’ member of the GFS. Existing members

Invitations for renewal of GFS Memberships for the 2020-2021 Sailing Season were dispatched by email in early June to all members who were financial last season. They will have been sent to the member email addresses we have on file. If you have not received one of these invitations and it is possible you have not updated your current email address in our membership system please do so and then make contact with the Membership Officer via this Contact form page.

Or  alternatively post your completed application form to the GFS Membership Secretary, PO Box 5092 Greenwich NSW 2065.

You do not have to include a payment with your application. Your application will be presented to the next meeting of the Club Committee for vetting and a decision on endorsement.  The Committee meets on the second Tuesday evening of each month during the racing season. Once a decision is made the Membership Secretary will advise you by email of the outcome as well as arrangements for you to pay your membership fees.
