The aim of GFS Women is to support women’s participation in all aspects of the Club – as sailors, boat owners and volunteers. Women looking for crew spots are invited to contact Chris Gaskell memberships@gfs.org.au or Leigh McLaughlin vicecommodore@gfs.org.au for assistance.

In the 25-26 twilight season, the Club is running the Women’s Helm Development Program.

This consists of five races where women will take the helm. These will be on the last Wednesday of the month (except December): 29 October, 26 November, 28 January, 25 February and 25 March.

If you’re a woman with sailing experience and would like to helm, click here to nominate as a Helmswoman. https://forms.gle/YqTUmKmvd5rGCsry9

If you’re an experienced Skipper and would like to share your knowledge, nominate as a Mentor. https://forms.gle/VstY9QUnRwFioNaq8

The aim is to create a supportive learning environment and a great experience for everyone involved. More detail is in document below.

Members are encouraged to support this event which is part of the Club’s efforts to be one of the best on the Harbour for women’s participation.

If you would like more information, or have questions, please get in touch with Leigh McLaughlin vicecommodore@gfs.org.au
