The next 2018 – 2019 GFS Equipment Audit is Saturday September 15. Fire extinguishers can be tested at a cost of $10 per extinguisher, the proceeds going to YOTS.

Please download the form from the Yachts – Racing Information page of the GFS Website and have it completed for the auditor. Courses and GFS Safety Card (required) can also be downloaded from the Racing Information page.

Have the equipment laid out to allow the process to proceed smoothly.

Check the use-by dates of required items in the medical kit and provide a copy of your insurance for the auditor to sight.

Think about how you could retrieve a person overboard from the water.

Australian Sailing is running a Club Equipment Auditor course at RANSA on September 2 (8.30 -11.30am) or RPAYC on September 8 (8.00 – 11.00am). Go to https://www.sailing.org.au/course-search/82/

If you are interested please contact the GFS Safety Officer on the Contacts page on the GFS Website.

Assemble on the fabled Deck of All Knowledge from 0900 Hrs to chase away all the winter ills from the clubhouse and signal the approach of the 2018 – 2019 Sailing Season.

Maintenance Mark has come up with his usual array of challenging tasks to make the time spent pass quickly.
